Emergency Rest Centre:

In pilot, official release date Q1 2006

ERC has been designed to provide you with the ability to understand, manage and provide targeted resources for your emergency situations.

ERC was created at the request of our valued customers (references can be supplied). The design is based on the input from a number of organisations that have hard-bitten knowledge of dealing with front-line emergencies.

It is a multi-channel application (both web and telephone) which registers, maintains relationships and provides current statistics on:

·          Regions

·          Rest Centres

·          Incidents

·          Locations

·          People

·          Pets

·          Animals

·          Vehicles

·          Relatives

·          Units of Water

·          Food Packages

·          Suppliers

·          etc

The ERC administration function enables response personnel to predefine their emergency response logistics e.g. the Region, associated Rest and Recuperation Centres, units of water, evacuee capacity, numbers of beds and so on. Each logistic is assigned a category number. This information is available over secured internet communications and telephone lines.

In the event of a disaster on-site response personnel can input numbers of categories and the associated details at each rest centre. In the event that it is impossible to enter information over the web, then this information can be input using the telephone. By identifying the region, rest centre and response staff member generic numbers can be input e.g. category 1 has 18 units. In this way information can be entered using the web and DTMF tones.

In an emergency it is not always guaranteed that communications are available.

The information entered at the individual rest centre or rapidly established evacuation reception point is also available at any command centre that has the appropriate security clearances. This ensures that a command centre can be in full charge of the situation and manage respite resources with the best possible information. In the same way information can be retrieved using the web or over the telephone.

The recent emergencies  in New Orleans, USA and the Asian Tsunami highlighted the need for a command and control facility such that:

Incident can be assessed accurately

Resources can be managed from an individual to a Regional level

No single point of communications failure

Easy to use

Rapid to establish

Information available at more than one centre

ERC enables the command and control facility to understand the enormity of the situation and then target the resources given the best possible levels of information.
